Our 12-day / 11-night Shark Diving South Africa and Mozambique with Safari includes shark diving at the Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks in South Africa and shark diving Ponta Do Ouro in Mozambique before experiencing a full day open vehicle safari.
The package includes all transfers, accommodation, scuba diving, dive permits for all locations and the safari.
Flight Requirements
Arrive : Durban Airport at anytime
Depart : Durban Airport (flights after 2PM)
When you arrive at Durban Airport you will be met and transferred to Umkomaas.
Please do not book flights until you have confirmed availability and we are holding your space/s.
Holiday Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive Durban Airport - Transfer to and Overnight Umkomaas.
Day 2 : 2 x Shark Dives Aliwal Shoal - Overnight Umkomaas.
Day 5 : 1 x Shark Dive & 1 x baited shark dive Aliwal Shoal - Overnight Umkomaas.
Day 4 : 2 x Shark Dives Protea Banks - Overnight Umkomaas.
Day 5 : 1 x Shark Dive & 1 x baited shark dive Protea Banks - Overnight Umkomaas.
Day 6 : Transfer to Mozambique - Overnight Ponta Do Ouro.
Day 7 : 2 x Shark Dives Ponta Do Ouro - Overnight Ponta Do Ouro.
Day 8 : 2 x Shark Dives Ponta Do Ouro - Overnight Ponta Do Ouro.
Day 9 : 2 x Shark Dives Ponta Do Ouro - Overnight Ponta Do Ouro.
Day 10 : 2 x Shark Dives Ponta Do Ouro - Transfer to and Overnight St Lucia.
Day 11 : Full Day Open Vehicle Safari - Overnight St Lucia.
Day 12 : Transfer to Durban International (flights after 2PM).
Extra diving is available should conditions allow and can be arranged when you are there.
Typical Diving Day
After breakfast meet at the dive centre to kit-up and prepare for the days shark diving.
Each day you will experience two dives on the Aliwal Shoal, South Africa or Ponta Do Ouro, Mozambique.
The diving starts with a surf launch from the beach before diving with the many species of shark.
The dives offer a great chance to see many species of shark including Ragged Tooth Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks as well as Dolphin, Whales, Turtles, Mantas, Devil Rays, Eagle Rays, Moray Eels, Game Fish, Paperfish and much more!
After the shark diving, return to the dive centre where there are hot showers and a secure wet-room to store your gear.
Spend the afternoon relaxing around the pool, walking on the beach or visit a local attraction.
In the evening enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants.
Typical Day on Safari
Depart your lodge just before sunrise and head to Hluhluwe iMfolozi Big 5 Reserve, South Africa’s oldest Big 5 Game Reserve.
Early morning offers you the opportunity to see the animals that are most active at dawn, such as Lion, leopards, cheetah, wild dogs, and hyenas. After sunrise breakfast is served in the reserve at one of the many look-out points.
After breakfast you continue exploring the reserve looking for all different kinds of wildlife including hippo, rhino, giraffe, elephants and more, enjoying the stunning landscape of the reserve at the same time.
A BBQ Lunch or a cold buffet is served in the park (depending on the weather), at a look-out point or hide.
After the safari you return to St Lucia, to relax and reflect on the day’s sightings.
Accommodation in South Africa
Your accommodation is situated in the small diving town of Umkomaas and is just a 10-minute walk from the beach.
The dive centre is on-site at the lodge. All rooms have en-suite facilities and rooms are serviced daily.
The lodge offers free Wi-Fi internet access, Satellite TV and has an amazing swimming pool area.
Just wake-up, roll out of bed and go shark diving - awesome!
Accommodation in Mozambique
Your accommodation is situated in Ponta Do Ouro and has an amazing deck over-looking the Indian Ocean.
The beach and the dive centre are just a few minutes walk from the lodge.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, air-conditioning and the rooms are serviced daily.
The lodge offers free Wi-Fi internet access and has an amazing swimming pool area.
Just wake-up, roll out of bed and go shark diving - awesome!
Safari Accommodation
Your accommodation is situated in the small town of St Lucia perfectly located for your Safari and Hippo / Croc cruise.

Shark Diving Aliwal Shoal
The Aliwal Shoal is rated as one of the top shark diving sites in the world is about 5-kms from the small diving town of Umkomaas.
The Aliwal Shoal is home to many species of shark including Tiger Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Guitar Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks and more.
During your diving holiday, you will experience a mix of shark dives on the reef, wreck dives and baited shark dives.
The Aliwal Shoal also offers a huge variety of marine life including Dolphin, Turtles, Rays, Eels, Game Fish, Reef fish and more.
Shark Diving Protea Banks
The Protea Banks are rated as one of the top shark diving sites in the world.
The Protea Banks are home to many species of shark including Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Great Hammerhead Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Guitar Sharks and more.
During your diving holiday, you will experience a mix of shark dives and baited shark dives.
The Protea Banks is also offers huge variety of marine life.
Shark Diving Ponta Do Ouro
The shark diving in Ponta Do Ouro takes place mainly on the Pinnacles but you can also see sharks on other reefs.
We have dived with 17-species of shark in Ponta Do Ouro including Tiger Sharks, Hammerhead Sharks, Bull Sharks, Silvertip Sharks, Blacktip Sharks, Whale Sharks, Spinner Sharks, Dusky Sharks, Java Sharks, Grey Reef Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Great Hammerhead Sharks, Whitetip Reef Sharks, Leopard Sharks, Nurse Sharks, Guitar Sharks and even Great White Sharks.
The reefs of Ponta Do Ouro also offers a huge diversity in other marine-life which includes Dolphin, Paperfish, Frogfish, Spanish Dancers, Honeycomb Eels, Round Ribbontail Rays, many species of Turtle and a huge amount of reef and pelagic fish.
The annual Humpback Whale migration passes the coast of Ponta Do Ouro each year between June and October.
